This year Panmure Bridge School is lucky enough to participate in the Summer Learning Journey from 2018-2019. This is an opportunity for the Manaiakalani cluster school to join. For the Summer Learning Journey we are given tasks to finish. The people who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from each school wins exclusive prizes. The prizes this year is amazing. I have completed most of the week 1 challenges, so I moved onto the week 2 challenges. The week 2 challenges is based on water, water, everywhere.
As you can see my compeleted work i have finished right here above my Description. I was supposed to solve out this maths problem and it was about squids and how many adults and children would it take to take the squid to its new home. I have solved my final answer on a google slide and the equation blurb in the slide. Play the slide and if you have another way just comment !
Hi Kaitlyn!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Ellee and I am another commentor on the Summer Learning Journey team! I hope you have had an amazing school holidays? :)
Thank you for sharing your answer for this activity. :)
I am thinking that maybe you have gotten a little bit confused or maybe misread what the question is asking -
For this activity you needed to see if you can come up with a team of adults and children who would be able to move the squid.
Children can only lift 15kg's each and adults can only lift 20kg's each.
Hopefully this might help with your thinking:
I know that 4 x 25 = 100
so if I want to lift 100kg's I would need 4 adults
I know that 15 x 10 = 150
I know if I double 150 = 300
So if I wanted to lift 300kg's I would need 20 kids.
This is not the full or only solution to the problem but hopefully it might give you a clear idea of how you can go about it! :)
Nga mihi,
Ellee :)
